Default Back-up Sensor on 2007 XLS

Mine is one of those that beeps and shows the distance on a little readout at the top of the rear window. It started to malfunction recently. The distance values are all wrong and blinking a lot. Can someone please shed some light. Is there a battery I am supposed to replace or calibrate the thing or what?

Thank you.

Hardly.

Check the connection, especially power.
Most likely it is a unreliable connectivity issue.

Thank you, Vadimus for getting back. I have checked the lower sensors in the bumper and there is no sign of lose connections or wires. I do not know how to get to the ones higher up. Do I remove the inside panels in the cabin to get to them?

Please allow me to ask some dumb questions. I don't know how it is wired because I did not install the system. But I know it was came installed from the dealer when new. So I hope it give you a good idea of how it is installed.

It does look like a bad or diminishing power source like you said. It is fading gradually more now. Now there is only a little red dot on the rear window display and no sound. Occasionally it would blink and beep erratically. If there is no battery in the sensor system where do I check for main power coming into it? I mean is there some main control unit for it and all the sensors and the display are connector to it? If so where is it usually mounted?

Thank you.
