Just the boot? I don't see why the boot would make that noise...

I agree with ivanz. if the boot was ripped, dust/dirt may have gotten into the joint and may have worn it. I'd push for that half shaft to be replaced under warranty.

got my car back from dealer ... here is what they did: replace bearing on both axels ..take both axels apart and put back together with new greases .. new boots for both CV joint.

any charge or still in warrenty? What did you say to the dealer in order to have them fixed?

all repair under warranty .. when i drop off my car, i told the service personnel what happened and he heard the pop right after he drove my car away. He thought replace CV-Joint boots should solve the issue. NO .. the pop noise came right back. So the tech remove the both front axle off and took both them apart .. find out there were no grease around the bearings which has been replaced under TSB last year. They ordered the parts and replace the both bearings and grease the bearing and other parts which required special grease. According to the service tech. it took him over 10 hrs to get job completed.
Great maintenance facility with very knowledgeable techies. if u r in Southern California near orange county ...
