Day time running leds ?? Wont stay on ?
Hello , Brand new member and new owner outlander sport 2013 se!
I have the factory installed lower led strips in the front , and have seen a few post about them . I haven't seen the answer or is it possible to have them come on with the headlights at nighttime? It seems like there only on during the day DRl?? but I think it would be great to have them on at night -
Any ideas or fixes please let me know ! Thanks

This is the way it is supposed to be by law; they are daytime running lights, designed to be glaring enough in daylight to be conspicuous. Running them in stock form at night would be overly glaring to every other road user, akin to using your high beams.
If you really do want to go down this path, make sure you get them to run at a much dimmer mode when your headlights are on, more as position markers; I believe this is how some stock vehicles are set up (eg. Audi).
No idea how such a setup works nowadays, typically I would have hacked in another relay tied in with the headlamps, with a lower power source hacked to the DRL line, but I don't know how much is controlled and monitored by the BEM now. Hell, I don't even know if it uses a BEM as such...

Yeah they aren't for providing lighting to see by, but they are regulated lighting devices, and in many case legislated?
Sorry if I seem negative, but I (and many others) have been beaten about the head with this stuff over on candlepowerforums
See I thought the same thing too, it seemed (seems?) to go against what the DRL standards state, but then other stuff I read seemed to indicate that they were changing the drive level so it was running at a lower brightness when the headlights are engaged, essentially turning it into a position lamp instead... or at least in theory, no idea if that's actually happening as I don't own or have access to one of said cars.
Both the Australian and Canadian (and probably every other) standards specifically state that they must turn off when the headlights are turned on, so they must have found a loophole somehow, as per above. Either that, or no-one bothers to actually enforce the standards on new cars when they enter the country. One rule for one lot, another rule for us general public.

I've had a mercedes benz with led lights in the lower fascia run day and night here in CT USA , many cars have them .
That's why I thought it was strange that mitsubishi shut off ,
But is it a setting I can access or the dealer would have to program it ?
If it's possible .

ETACS options need to be changed:
DRL type - independent
Auto light control - Low (RLS)
Head lamp auto cut mode - E-spec
