The perfect tool for the perfect job.
After unlocking the hdd you may attach it as a regular disk wherever it should fit: USB adapters, firewire etc. It is now just a regular disk.

jsrd, thanks for the link.
I downloaded and burned another CD,still no joy , my MMCS resume normal operation after the message checking disk disappeared.
At this point, I am convinced that the patch problem might have something to do with certain MMCS heads (newer / different version of mmcs head), now otaku, do your magic please. I awaits your good news
I had the same problem when I loaded my CD in the MMCS . After the CHECKING DISK finished nothing had happened. Then I turned OFF the radio with the POWER button and I realised that the UPGRADE Yes or NO button was there, it was just hidden behind the RADIO menu of the MMCS. So try turning OFF radio , might work if your main problem is not the Version of your software.

A few things:

1. Thanks so much to all you dudes who have figured/worked this stuff out, seriously.

2. The last few posts on this thread were talking about unlocking MMCS, but I thought that was a moot point if all you want is the DVD in motion because of the uploadable cd w/ patch, is that right?

3. I want to do this DVD in motion thing, but I also (eventually) want to update my navigation. Should I upload the DVD patch before or after I update the navigation, or does it matter.

Thanks again

If you hold SET+NAVI for a few secs, then touch Version indication, some people have an application version of 00.30.94, which we haven't yet patched for dvd-in-motion because we haven't been able to get our hands on the necessary "loading.kwi" (and alldata.kwi) file. The easiest way to get those two files is to have someone with those versions pull the hard drive.

You mention you were going to update your navigation. I suggest that you update that first, then give us a copy of the CD/DVD (or specifically the loading.kwi and alldata.kwi files from the disc) and we can probably patch it directly from that -- no pulling of the HDD necessary. (assuming that your navigation update gives you version 00.30.94)

Now lets say you already did the Dvd-in-motion patch. But now want to update maps. How is that patch going to affect the already dvd-in-motion patch? And you just need to go to the dealer to get the updated maps correct?
