It's a little bit difficult to me, the disc is about 6,1 GB. I don't know a Filehoster which allowes such filesize for free users.

Default questions about replacing the maps on HDD

Questions about replacing the map files....

so, i was able to get a new (old) maps DVD files.
my mmcs is updated with 2005 maps, i got the 2007 maps.
and so i wanted to test,
i have hacked the mmcs HDD and the computer does recognize it.

so on the DVD we have a bunch of files:
ALLDATA.KWI
CANB120.CBX
CDDS*.TXT
ECDDB.UDT
ECDDB.UDX
HD1.*** (164 FILES)
INDEX.TXT
LOADING.KWI
MY.INI
NR216UM.SCE
SUBCPU.ME

now....
i have written a small script to rename all the HD1.** to HD1.**.gz
and i have extracted them all,
now here is the issue.

it generated these set of files which i know for sure are the actual map update (compared with the HDD).
these are the files:

0.1
0.2
alldata.kwi
ctr*.csv
indexdata.kwi
par_mng.me
parcel.kwi
tmcinfo.me
voice01
voice02

now i am having some issues with the IDX files.
from all the HD1.**.gz files it just extracted the same file HD1.** only this time they are all the same size,
after extracting all the 0.1, 0.2 ETC it did create the IDX folder but it fails to continue,

it tells me that file HD1 already exist, or at other time it tells me the file is not an archive...

can someone assist ?let me know where did i go wrong?
what is the process to create the files in order to replace the files on the MMCS HDD?
thank you.

Please share DVD somewhere e.g. http://turbobit.net/
DEC files contain main directory.
HEX files are the contents of a folder existed on main directory
You have to rename it similiar to created by me attachet rename.bat batch file http://turbobit.net/ao6bgjdskr8k.html
Then You have to join files
Output is ISO file

Anyway our Guru Otaku needs *.sce files and You have
Please help and send NR216UM.SCE

Nov 2010. is very outdated at least for me this summer travelling between belgium and spain there were so many changes that GPS was useless. When could we expect an updated map?

Also maybe we should fork the thread for EM only as this one is becoming very large.

That's true, MZ314453 is a M190 map which comes from Navteq first quart of 2009 (Q1/09), so is more then 3 years old now.
We are looking for newer Europe map too

Default interesting further info

Just to add to this thread.
I have spoken to my local dealer and he says that the current update disk MZ314516 is 2011 maps and is £153 plus VAT!
anyway he also says that its a one shot disk so it can only be installed once. The clue to this is that you get a key with the disk that you have to put in first which enables the box to go into update mode!
now where you put this key in is a mystery as he did say he had not done one himself but my guess is that the port on the bottom of the screen may be a clue? unless the key is another disc ?
discuss??

oh and also the download for the music gracenote database is available on the Mitsubishi website here
Download MITSUBISHI MOTORS
nice of them to let us have that at least!

actually the latest DVD maps (for USA) is MZ360377EX .
the "version key up" is a key where u stick to that 3.5" port at the bottom of your screen when you open it.
it allow u to actually install the update.
yes, it is a one time use.
but if you hack the MMCS HDD then we bypass that key....
all we need is the DVD...
(which is NO WHERE to be found on the internet)
i also HATE the fact our unit does not have A2DP bluetooth....

Bingo, you insert the "key" into the port at the bottom of the screen. It looks like a small fob.
