From what i remember, its easy to remove and clean with a solvent and should only take an hour or so.

Hi there did you ever get your 487 fault code sorted? And can you advise how you managed it? Cheers

I got it so it rarely came up. But the vehicle has long since been sold now.

Exclamation More questions

Hello all, I have a 2007 Outlander MK 2 DI-D. I also keep getting the P0487 code. So far I have replaced the EGR valve, the throttle body attached to it, had the turbo replaced with a refurbished one which has a brand new turbo controller on it. I still get the code coming up. Also when I first drove the vehicle after having the refurbished turbo installed the vehicle seemed to run fine. Then it started stuttering again and often won't accelerate cleanly past 2500rpm. This doesn't happen all the time. The message talks about a throttle position control circuit. I have also heard that the throttle on this vehicle is Fly-By-Wire and that there is no physical connection between the pedal and the throttle. Are there throttle position sensors that need to be cleaned?

Jay

Its a long time ago now that i had that vehicle....but i recall the butterfly valve was in the throttle body and motor controlled (fly by wire as you said).....you could try carburettor cleaner to make sure it not gunged up....
