Default Outlander EGR P0487 problem

Hi All,

I have an Outlander that every so often gets an engine warning light coming on when starting the vehicle. Now the car runs absolutely fine with no noticable problem....however why does it do it??
When i plug in the scanner, i read a P0487 which means "EGR Throttle position control circuit".

If i reset the fault then all is fine...for a few weeks and then it does it again...always on start up...

Any ideas?

Matt
