Default Engine Oil for Mitsubishi's Warranty

Hey guys. If I were to do my own service for the Outie, is there a manufacture recommended engine oil brand that I need to use, or can I use any brand? I have heard from others that automotive manufacture have specific oil brands that they want you to use in order for you to have your warranty valid.

Thanks Guys!

Mobil 1 is used at the Mitsubishi Evolution factory so I imagine that oil would not void a Mitsubishi warranty. Keep a log of your oil changes and receipts if you do it yourself while the vehicle is under warranty.

Brand wouldn't matter as long as what you are using meets Mitsubishi's specification requirements.

I didn't want to be the one to say it so thanks. Any oil that meets or exceeds SAE standards is most likely ok.

Thanks for the replies. Since Mitsubishi said to put in 5W-20 in my Outlander (Canadian), therefore I need to put that, but any brand is fine, correct?

Thanks Guys

whatever your Oil filler cap+owners manual say Use that weight...As long as you use that weight no way they can void warranty.

i got my car serviced yesterday and the work order that was given to me said Mobil S1000 5w20.
not sure what Mobil s1000 is but i'm guessing Mobil 1 however it was priced lower than $20 so i'm a little doubtful since i used to pay about $36 for it when i was getting it for my old cars.
