Pretty much any J2534 interface will work. I mostly use $15 Toyota Mini-VCI.

I'm new here and was going through the thread (very informative). From what I understand, all I need is to do is get a mini vci and order ETACS decoder software from Vadimus and I'll be able to fiddle with some of the Outlander settings? I mainly want to turn off TPMS warning light. Any help? Thanks

How easy would you say it is to play around with ETACS decoder without seriously messing something up? And how user friendly is the GUI on the program, can a newbie get it done or is there code to be written?

Not super easy, but no coding is needed. It is more like trying to learn a new software package, not a programming language. You just need to understand the interface. You won't really know what the documentation is saying until you get the decoder in front of you with a cable. I got this one from amazon for $19. Good luck.

Thanks....I appreciate the help, I'll get it done as soon as I get the cable. Hope I don't get the ABS warning lights like some others have mentioned they got when trying to turn the TPMS off.
