Default Hoseheater Outlander 2012

Hello,
My father has a 2012 and just bought a hosewamer. I have never seen one before but it is a heater and pump to connect in between the engine and the small radiator inside the coupe.

Has enyone done this before? We have looked at the bottum hose from the coupe and we are thinking about making a loop to ensure that the warmer is not next to the dieselfilter.
All tips and tricks are welcome! - but my father has already bought it so its going in

How does this heater create heat?

From what you describe, you are adding a heater between the vehicle's radiator and heater core. The only benefit to that would be getting heat quicker into the interior or having heat without the engine turned on. It would also have to turn off once the engine was up to running temperature...or else you'll be adding heat that the radiator must deal with.

The heater element heats the coolant, and the pump pumps the heated coolant around in the engine for preheating the engine prior to start.

Does it not come with mounting instructions? I think these are to be mounted on the inlet to the heater core in the car, hence some stray heat actually enters the cabin.
