Default How to Change the Battery?

I have a 2008 Outlander SE and need to change the battery and I would prefer to do it myself.

However, the air intake passes over the battery and I can't figure out how to remove it in order to take the battery out. The air intake attaches to the air filter box and I can't figure out how it detaches from the box. Has anyone done it?

two plastic screws holds the air intake tube to the grille...then unsnap your filter from the box...that removes that. Not the most fun thing to put back together, but that's what I did when I replaced mine.

I got the two plastic screws out no problem. But I can't seem to get the air intake to unsnap from the filter box. How hard did you pull/wiggle? I'm afraid to break something.

The air filter box has two metal clips. Unfasten them and the airbox will separate.

OK I figured it out. Actually there is no need to remove the air filter - you should also not as far as I can tell because this would further require removing the half of the air filter box which is connected to the air intake (and there is also an additional bolt you would have to remove as well as wiring attached to this half of the air filter box).

Instead I used a screwdriver to pry the air intake out of the air filter box (it's attached by a clip - but you can sort of bend the plastic with a screwdriver).

Thanks for the replies all.

Had the same issue. The following video posted on YOUCANIC showed it how to disconnect the air intake and replace the battery.
