How many CDs can be stored on the music server?

mp3, AAC, WMA and other audio codecs are not chip specific. Any processor can play them provided you pay the owner of the format licensing fees. Thats probably why Mitsubishi stuck with only 2 formats-to keep cost down. Firmware upgrades will provide access to other codecs in the future if Mitsu pays for the rights. My puny Palm Treo can play any codec in the world if you buy the right software. Damn shame mp3 dvd's don't work-I listen mostly to compilations and I'm not going to re-rip 500 cd's on the music server to get access to 20% of my music.

You can, with the correct software (Roxio, and others) create music DVDs from MP3 files (these are essentially DVDs with only audio tracks and still pictures).
So far, I've created audio DVDs with about 4 GB of MP3 files on them. They workquitewell, and even have a nice background for you to look at whileyou're stopped in traffic.
