anyone seen this method to hack the HDD, it looks so much simpler then the one here on page 1....

Navigation Map Update Kits have historically been released on an annual basis. The latest update that is available is MZ360377EX. This update was released in June, 2012 for the following vehicle:

2008-2011 Lancer & Lancer Evolution
2010-2011 Lancer Sportback
2007-2011 Outlander
2011 RVR

We need copy of update disc DVD files HD1.xxx, I can join them to image of map files
DVD comes with hardlock key, it's MItsu protection of instalation inside one MMCS unit, with instalation MMCS writes unique code inside hardlock, so DVD with is unusable in other MMCS unit
If You have disc just make a copy of files, that's all waht we need for image
DVD with key can be trade to something else then

 

I will make ISO's of the disks available. I was also thinking I'd do the unlock procedure, and take a copy of the folder structure of the map partition like the ones that I have downloaded and tried (putting me in paris). I might simply do a disk image of the whole thing if all my personal stuff is erased during the upgrade. Especially if the firmware is upgraded, not just the map files. It's going to work out to about $220 for the upgrade in total.

 

Questions about replacing the map files....


so, i was able to get a new (old) maps DVD files.
my mmcs is updated with 2005 maps, i got the 2007 maps.
and so i wanted to test,
i have hacked the mmcs HDD and the computer does recognize it.

so on the DVD we have a bunch of files:
ALLDATA.KWI
CANB120.CBX
CDDS*.TXT
ECDDB.UDT
ECDDB.UDX
HD1.*** (164 FILES)
INDEX.TXT
LOADING.KWI
MY.INI
NR216UM.SCE
SUBCPU.ME


now....
i have written a small script to rename all the HD1.** to HD1.**.gz
and i have extracted them all,
now here is the issue.

it generated these set of files which i know for sure are the actual map update (compared with the HDD).
these are the files:

0.1
0.2
alldata.kwi
ctr*.csv
indexdata.kwi
par_mng.me
parcel.kwi
tmcinfo.me
voice01
voice02

now i am having some issues with the IDX files.
from all the HD1.**.gz files it just extracted the same file HD1.** only this time they are all the same size,
after extracting all the 0.1, 0.2 ETC it did create the IDX folder but it fails to continue,

it tells me that file HD1 already exist, or at other time it tells me the file is not an archive...

can someone assist ?let me know where did i go wrong?
what is the process to create the files in order to replace the files on the MMCS HDD?

Please share DVD somewhere e.g. http://turbobit.net/
DEC files contain main directory.
HEX files are the contents of a folder existed on main directory
You have to rename it similiar to created by me attachet rename.bat batch file

can you please elaborate on the process to get the IDX files out ?
i have renamed all the HD1.** files to HD1.**.gz and extracted them all but it just gave me the same file name HD1.** only this time there were all the same size.

OK, download attached batch file, unpack and place rename.bat inside folder with HD1.xxx files
Just run rename.bat, it will rename all files so You can join them properly
