Thanks for the info 'sresky'. I'll wait until 'vademis' has your unit and can confirm files plus method to do. I'd also like to get The Rock as well as other functions out of the unit but do not want to risk losing what I have now.

Trying to follow the MMCS threads is confusing but on the latest advice it should be possible to convert to English and maybe get GPS working. They have this system in Oz from new so it should be available.

One of the reasons I bought this truck was because of the Rockford sound system and having MMCS. I had one of the 1st systems in my 97 Pajero but figured by now everyone would have this worked out. At least we are communicating and have some IT savey & helpful people on board.

Hey 'HJB'

Yes I tried that, I could be doing something wrong but I even powered down the MMCS down overnight with no luck.

The unlocking and file swapping is the easy part, the rest of the process I must be going wrong somewhere, could well be the CD I've burned is wrong.

I can't read Japanese though so I can't read what it prompts me to do on the screen

Has anyone else tried the J-01 conversion?

When I burned the CD with the 2 files 'vademis' supplied I had a strange error message stating not all data from file could be transferred. There must be something attached to the file which my PC won't reconise. 20+ years ago I use to do a 'blank-copy' command to directely duplicate data files. Not sure what is available now but this may be your problem.

Hey, mistyping my name 2nd time in a row - that's what prevents it from working.
Karma thing, you know.

Sorry about that 'Vadimus', spelling isn't one of my strong points. I'll go back correct while I'm facing toward the East sunrise if it will gain me some brownie points.

Question J-03 mmcs japanese to english

Basically you need to format the partition with ScreenData and replace loading.kwi on another partition with a special one downloaded from here: ftp://37.194.95.182/MMCS/J-01_to_N-04/disc.rar
Same loading.kwi and alldata.kwi need to be burned to CD.

Once you have it done put HDD into MMCS, power it up, when asked for system disk insert the CD you created.

Let me know if it worked. Please note that this loading.kwi is for J-01 only, J-03 and others require a different one.

Hi Vadimus,

Would you have this file but for the J-03 mmcs which I have?

Pretty keen to get english instead of japanese too

Thanks for your help
