Intake installed on outlander

Intake installed on outlander
so i have a 2.4L outlander, wanted a bit more UMPH under my foot so i started with an intake. No one sells an intake of course but the 2.4L lancer is almost spot on the same under the hood. Got a great deal on a Injen intake and got it bolted up. I still have a few things i need to do, port and polish the throttle body as well as make a CAI box. However I will say it does a nice job to wake up the motor a bit, improve response, and a bit more pep... That said, this is by far the LOUDEST intake i have ever run in my life. I am not sure if it is the horrible cabin insulation that Mitsu does or what, but it is loud when i put my foot in it. I think that by fabricating a CAI box that will help to dampen the sound a bit. Next up is a better flowing muffler and resinated tip.
Install took about 5 min. Just unbolt and remove the stock air box, held in by one bolt under the ram air tubing, (that also has to come out with the 2 pop pins at the front)
make sure the TB is clean and nothing in the way
also found a nice GPS mount that uses that front cup holder area, works great (ebay $12)
chicago winters rocking and rolling and the 4x4 and blizaks rock

not sure i would call this a "performance mod" as i do not have any numbers on that, once i port and polish my throttle body i think that will give me the extra umph i am looking for i just have to find the time to pull it off the vehicle and take it in my shop for some work... customers come first so i will have to see when i can squeeze my own stuff in. plus i have to make a intake box still for this set up and powder it to match the color of the vehicle

Yes, the cone will allow for much more intake of air, the box i fab will create a divider from the header heat and the inlet for the intake, i will also be able to use the factory ram to pipe fresh air into the box, it is a much for efficient means of air intake and allow for cooler air to remain that way. here is a sample of the set up i am talking about
