Manual Mode on a 2003 Outlander LS not working?
Hi,
So I have had this car for about 5 months. I bought it at a good price and the manual mode never worked. So now (overwhelmed with the MPGs I am getting) I was thinking about fixing the manual mode, if not to control the RPMs and possibly the consumption, then just for fun, to see what it feels like and also to add some value for when I sell it (Soon I hope).
So I looked around the internet and this forum and could not find what the problem could be. Any help and pointers would be greatly appreciated
. I have that plastic piece that separates the D from the manual mode that has moved and fallen to the side? And also, it does not turn on on the dashboard. Besides that I do not fully know how the system works.
Cheers!

There are 3 wires below the gear shift that controls the tiptronic mode. Open up the bottom of the shift and I'm 95% sure that one of your wires or more have disconnected. All you have to do is solder them back together and the tiptronic mode will work. It's a common issue with 1st gen Outlanders.
