Imagine that. I shoulda known. uh huh. Gives me another angle in my quest, when I hear from parts rep I'll post it. I seriously doubt my nav will be able to locate my home before she is traded off.

Here's a clue.. If you can find your address in Google Maps then it could be in the next update.

Talked to MMNA today about the Nav update issue. Person I talked to said a new revision dvd should be available from dealers next month for purchase. (November/07) Let's hope the dvd doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

What's the point of posting the same thing in two threads?

I think the major issue here is Mitsubishi, like other dealers, sold us a car with a Nav system that is 2 years out of date. We PAID for the Nav system. They should provide this update for free.

In the Manual it mentions NavTech. They may not have "Made" the Nav system but they did supply the Nav data. They supply the Nav data for must systems.

Again, if you can find your address in Google Maps, then you need an update for your MMCS. The fact is, Nav maps from 2005 are the most current available at the time of production. Mitsubishi just buys the Nav maps from Navteq. Navteq supplies some of the map data in Google maps, so if you can find your house in Google maps, then you might want to buy an update. Or to be more accurate, Navteq has a report page for any update request, and they have a map app there too. Check if your address is avaialble on that map, because that map is the most current they have for sale. So would I blame Mitsubishi for an outdated map? No, blame Navteq. Would I like to have a free update when Navteq releases one for the MMCS? Sure, at least for the period of the 5 year new car warranty that I have.

Don't expect the latest maps and don't expect updates for free. I had 2006 Acura TSX w/ Nav which also had outdated maps and they only released updates every 2 years at $200 per DVD.
