It's the tires...try to get the dealer to swap them out for a different brand for you. I've had good luck with Hankooks on our '10, and had excellent Yokohamas on my '07.

Are the goodyear eagles THAT bad?
I think they come on the GT's and it seemed fine for me during the test drive.
And I thought maybe the cheaper Outlander ES came with a cheaper tire.

Ya they are not great at all. Always thought mine sucked and I dont even know if I got to 40k miles before I had them replaced due to wear. Feels like I did it around 30-35k.
PS: this is on a '07 XLS

Replaced with Pirelli P7 Four Seasons. Best bang for the buck at the time. Almost to 80k (so about 40k on them) and probably have 30-40% wear left. Quiter, less slip, and better feel on highway then my original Good Years fo sho.

Never heard of dealer swap tires after the sale, they already have your money and there is no leverage at all. But doesn't hurt to ask...
