No more weak horn how - to
Not sure about you guys but the horn on this ride stock was one of my pet peeves! i hated it! so wimpy... so i got on ebay, ordered a set of $12 horns

from here i used a 12mm rachet wrench and removed the stock horns, the hardest part was unclipping the power line, once i got that off i removed the 12mm bolt and removed the whole horn and bracket

Getting the new horns into the stock mount location would have required me to remove a ton of pannels under the truck to get to it, not gonna do that, and the new horns are larger so they still may not fit... so instead i pulled the stock mounts off the stock horns and used those. I did have to make a ground that went from the horn ground to a wire nut that went on the mount bolt for the horn to ground it, i bolted that to the stock mount. then used the bolt location almost directly under the hood latch, to support them.

I did angle them a bit so that water/snow would not come though the grill and just fill the horns up... they have a great sound, much deeper but not so loud you never want to touch it. plus it is easier for me to hear my horn chirp when i arm my alarm from inside the house

all in all took me about 30 min to install the new horns, and that was going slow trying to figure out where i wanted to mount everything. I am **** about loctite so everything got a few drops, i was also able to use the stock power line plug just by removing where they mount on the stock bracket (squeeze the sides and the zip tie plug slides right out) easy and cheap upgrade that makes such a nice difference.

Mind rehosting the pictures? I'm going to tackle this over the weekend I hope (got some PIA horns off amazon) - Thx! First one works but none of the others.
?? Then why are you in a car forum then? We take pictures of new ebrake boots, wheels, radio antenas, etc. The detailed walk-thru posts are one of the greatest parts of the auto community. Not all of us like reading our paper Haynes manuals.
If being told/shown what and where I need to remove helps me get something done myself (or shows me I should hire someone) that's a great thing.
