Exclamation Not sure what plug I undid during oil change gone wrong, I think, please help!

On a money saving mission, I tried to change the oil, the sump was drained then I thought I was undoing the filter but it wasn't.
(I have since found the filter from the bonet side and changed that no problem)
However, the attached pictures are showing what I did undo, it is infront of the sump.
Any ideas what this is?
A fair bit of black oil came out of it, like the oil from the sump.
I'm hoping that someone will know what it is and what I need to do with it.

It's a manual gearbox, 2010, 6 spead 2l, diesel, 4x4 mitsubishi outlander.

Thanks in advance.

This looks like an oil cooler, it cools the oil using coolant rather than air.

Make sure there is no rise in your engine temperature?
