We had the Outlander 2.2 2010 for years making his rattle sound when in neutral but it would disapear when depressing the clutch fully.

So after a lot of suggestions of it likely being the clutch bearing we installed a new clutch kit with its new bearing and flywheel.

This annoying rattle still exists.

One thing the mechanic spotted and said looked unusual was the gearbox output shaft could move about 10mm in and out of the gearbox

Apart from this annoying rattle the car runs fine
