Spacer Lift kit for Outlander

This is a very popular wheel swap in the winter if you run snow tires.
The narrower thread help in the thick snow and the extra side wall save your teeth from rattling on the rough roads.

My plan is to get more sidewall. I can stick to the stock 215/70/16 swap (SE AWD comes with 225/55/18 reason I want to swap). Same height and revs w/o no ill effect. When that tire wears out, go with BFG All-Terrain KO.
And another thing - still need to research running this type of BFG tires. It support the load index, but there is a diff in the speed rating. Tires for the Sport is rated H (up to 130 mph) and BFG is R (up to 106 mph). I don't plan on taking it to 130, but want to confirm if ok to run the lower speed rating for the better off-road BFG tires.
Good to hear 235/55/18s don't rub. That's close to the tire size I'm also considering 225/70/16 as the other option (lil taller than the 2157/16). Most important get more side wall, and also more common BFG T/A KO tire size avail at my local tire shop.
Still interested in a lift but not neccessarily to go after the largest tire (concern about the revs) I can stuff in there. I'd lift it and get more front/back body clearance.
Having gone thru this excercise and re-reading post, my new plan is to go w/o a lift and run the 215/70/16s in BFGs, or lil larger/common size 225/70/16s (good to know doesn't rub Ian) next.
Or with a lift in either tire size.

I am running 235/65/16 on my "summer" wheels and 215/70/on my winter (original steel) wheels. The 235's is one of the standard option packages from Discount Tire Direct. Their web site gives several options based on same wheel size or plus 1 (17") or plus 2 (18"), each with tire options. They also show the true speed at an indicated 65 mph compared to the OEM originals.

I have ordered a 4" lift kit from www.4wdshop.net. They are in Japan and the shop owner makes each kit himself. The cost is approximately $2500 which includes shipping. I should have it by the end of next week. Once installed, I have purchased 255-60R18's to go under it.
