Does/has anyone notice(d) a chugging exhaut leak kind of noise at cold start that clears up after about 30+ seconds? My '04 OL has done this since new and I have always been curious as to the cause. Almost seems like something blocks the exhaust for a period maybe to warm a sensor?? I asked the dealer about it and I'm not sure they knew what I meant. Any thoughts??

 

yeah i, noticed that, and its even louder w/ aftermarket exhaust. but will only last for about 30-40 seconds, and once the engine start to clear or warm up, the noise will dissapear. i, think its all about the cold start...like you said, may be to warm the sensor. or maybe to warm cat. converter.

 

Same here....it goes away pretty quick. I guess if it was a major problem it would last lonfer than the normal 30 seconds or so.
