Default Time to replace this car

Just got the estimate for my car 2007 with 100k. We took it in for power steering leak and noise in right rear.
Replace power steering lines and flush system $1071
Replace both rear hubs and align(one bad but says to replace as pr) $1359
He also says the exhaust is ready to go, to replace that $2000. for factory system lol.
Guess we will go find a nice independent mechanic and get a second opinion.

only 100 kilometers and all those problems!?

I kid, I kid. In reality those issues aren't too far out of reasonable for a 100k car. Those prices, however, are absurd.

I agree with the problems not out of line for a car with these miles, it's the first major repair other than brakes. The mechanic even said You might as well be driving a BMW for what the want for parts.

Good lord. Find another repair shop quick. Rear hubs are easy to get to, no more than 1hr labor per side. Hubs are about $150 each. If you are AWD, rear hubs are Timken...good brand: RockAuto Parts Catalog

Power steering may be expensive, have you changed the fluid out at all yet? seems odd that the lines would go bad...that price seems like they are changing out the whole set: RockAuto Parts Catalog
If you haven't changed the fluid out, I'd have them replace it and tack it up as a lesson learned. I had a semi-how-to on changing power steering. Very easy to do. Main reason power steering units go out is due to lack of maintenance to the fluid. the fluid gets debris in it that grinds away at the seals. Changing it out prevents that from happening as fast. My wife learned the hard way, her Grand Am only lasted 8 years and 108k miles. It died shortly after I met her.
