Timming belt
When i bought the car i was not able to find out if the timming belt had been changed.....im at 11 000km. It is almost time to change it.....is there any way to look and find out if the belt has been changed? If not i guess i have to bite the bullet and get it done.....
At least see if it can be looked up in Mitsus service computers. Aside from that if it came to the mileage it needed to be done while you owned it its highly unlikely it was done. Most owners put it off.
I am the proud owner of the first Outlander sold in SE Qld, Australia. Bought it in early 2003, and now it has 239000Km's on it. (Yeah I tend to drive a little bit for work)
I have had two timing belt changes so far, each at the 100K mark, and the engine is still running like new. I would highly recommend changing the belt. My wife had a Diahatsu Charade which did NOT have its belt changed, and at 150000K it broke on the highway, and needless to say, needed a new engine! Valves went thru the tops of pistons, and all sorts of nastiness inside the engine.
Go the 00UTY!
