Transmission Gasket

I have a 2007 XLS. I bought this used car 3 years ago. The dealer I bought this car is a large dealer and has a free oil change for life. I took the car for oil change this week and they told me that I have a leak in the transmission gasket. I have 54500 miles on the car.
Has anyone experienced this problem. Is it common to see leaks on the gasket. I have never changed any transmission fluid. They were quoting me $300 to get it repaired.
Please let me know what you think.

Did you go to a Mitsubishi service? As far as I know, your car is still under warranty. Mitsubishis warranty is transferable: http://www.mitsubishicars.com/MMNA/j...te/warranty.do
Anyway, if there really is a leak (did they actually shown you the leak?), they should have fixed it free of charge.

I agree, you are still under warranty.
My upper oil pan has a slight leak to it. Looking at the service manual for the oil pan stuff, there is no traditional gasket. You just use the gasket sealant stuff. Two best products I've found has been "right stuff" and Yamabond 4. Yamabond 4 is a semi-liquid product that absolutely rocks.

Do not get Yamabond 5...works about as good as cheap black silicone or blue silicone sealant.

I went to a Chrysler dealer where the car was bought from. They do the oil change and also got my brakles done there. I have a free oil change for life.
They didn't show me any leaks. I think I will go to the Mitsubishi dealer and check on it.
Thanks for all the reply
