Turn Signals
Please help an old(er) Outie owner. I have had my UK elegance model since Nov 2007 and love it.Howevermy wife and I have one small issue, we keep leaving our turn signals on !We are both finding ourselves cruising down the motorway/highway with our turn signal flashing away from a turn made miles ago!! The self cancelling function is working ok but there is bearly no audible warning from the indicator at all. PLEASE guys .... don't give us the "learn to drive" line. We have over 60 years drivng experience between us ! It really is a feature of the vehicle that we just don't get on with.
I want some advice so that I can wire in a small buzzer that will operate as the indicators flash to ensure we switch off after use ( maybe old age is looming faster than I thought ..... safety first ?!?!?)
I amworried about tapping into the circuits because I think it all controlled by computer in the Outie. Can you give me some ideas please, how/where can I wire a buzzer in. Could you tap into something in the steering column?
Very many thanks ..... Mickey

The 60 years experiance just about says it
Just playing.
As far as making something to make a sound.... you could remove the gauge cluster and wire in a small buzzer onto the same circuit that the bulb operates on.

Hi Micky,
Other option would be to find a relay that controls the indicator bulbs on the dash and hardwire your buzzer. You also need to make sure buzzer's input impedance is high enough to not overload and/or interfere with existing circuits. Ideally, a separate power to the buzzer and sensing inputs for the right and left turn signals would look like a proper setup. I can dig up some diagrams to be more specific, but you willneed to make some measurements/tests and installation. First obtain a good buzzer.
Good luck.

Oneguy made very simply: he bought 2 cheap piezo buzzers (they have a high impedance) and soldered each on bulb contacts under dash.
Two bulbs (left and right turn signals)- four contacts - two buzzers.
30 minutes at all.
