Underboost Issue
Hi, I have a 2013 mk2 outlander gx4. A couple of days ago I had the ASC service light come up on a short drive and the car seemed to go into limp mode (loss of power). The following day I started the car up and the ASC light had gone off but the yellow check engine light was on and has stayed on since. The 2 codes that came up were p0299 and p0106. The car still has no power and makes a kind of whirring noise when accelerating fast. I have been told that this may be a split intercooler pipe as when accelerating the pipes are soft and squeezable. I can not, however, find any splits in the pipes. Any help appreciated? Thanks in advance.

The large pipe down the front of the engine. It goes from the throttle body to the intercooler. That is the pipe that could have a split.
Those codes maybe caused by a build up of carbon in your inlet manifold. Especially around the small pipe that goes to a port for the boost pressure sensor. This carbon can be caused by a split pipe, or maybe caused by a faulty EGR valve that is sticking.

Thanks for your reply dibby. I managed to find a loose connection on the pipe that connects directly to the turbo at the back of the engine which I think was causing the boost leak. Do you have a picture of where the map sensor is located please? As I think it needs changing
