What does the FAST Key Slot do?
#11
My wife has an Outlander Sport.....well over here its an ASX or if Japanese import a RVR. Although hers is a 2011, this may help you.
Her FAST key slot is in the glovebox.
The FAST key slot is if your batteries in the FOB are flat, you place it into the slot and you can get the vehicle started.
For the older generation of Outlanders that don't have push button start but do have a fob, you remove the key from the FOB, slot the key into the FOB (reverse) you remove the cap off the starter button on the steering wheel column, place the key in and turn to start the car. The FOB backs onto the steering wheel column so the FOB can communicate with the computer in order to get the car started when the FOB battery is flat.
