I have a 2018 Outlander GT with factory 225/55/R18 on it. I've been looking for a more aggressive tire. I searched pretty much everywhere online and couldn't find much of what I was looking for with the 18" rims. Looked at 17" options and there was quite a bit more, but nothing really caught my eye. So I went looking for 16" and there's a whole bunch of awesome tires.

The specific size I found and as far as I can tell will fit is a 225/75/R16. That's roughly 29.5 x 9 in size. I know the tires will fit in the wheel wells. I was measuring everything the best I could, but I don't know if the 16" rims will clear the calipers. I'm talking maybe a few mm of space at most.

So just want some verification that someone on this forum has used a 16" rim. I really want these tires. I don't care for fuel economy loss or road noise.

I thought the electric parking brake caused an interference, but I see that the SE with the 16" rims have the electric parking brake as well, so...

According to Tirerack.com yes 16" rims will fit.
