it SHOULD...

its 1.3" taller, so you are going to have quite a bit difference in your speedo..

did the 2004 models ever come with 18" wheels as an option? if so then it will fit for sure

No the 2004 never came with that option and accordin. To Tirerack it would need 235/50/18 which would make the tire then 27.52 so the 215/70 would be 27.85

I would try to stick with something UNDER 1" taller than stock... closer to stock height the better

I personally would not go with a set of tires over 1" taller. Your speedo will read under your actual speed and the car may be sluggish off the line and lack acceleration.

On the next set of tires I put on my daughter's 05 Outlander, I think I'm going with 205/65/16s. They're virtually the same height as the 225/60/16s and IMO the 225s are a little too wide for the best grip in wet/slick conditions for this car's size and weight.....especially if the car is not equipped with anti-lock brakes.....which hers isn't.

I purchased the car with virtually new tires, yet the brakes will lock up fairly easily on wet/slick pavement. I think a slightly more narrow tire will give the appropriate "bite" it needs in those conditions.
