So, I got the car back from the dealership. They threw in the towel. Said they couldnt figure it out. Towed the car home and not sure what to do now. I did get some news though. Their engineer said that neither the original ECU, or the replacement ECU would send 5v of power to the crank and camshaft sensors. They also took my ECU's and put them in known good working cars and those cars had the same issue that mine had. So I guess my car has developed a issue of ruining ECU's?? Their tech's blamed me which I thought was odd. Who knew replacing a oil pump and oil pan would cause a car to ruin ECU's. Anyways, any thoughts or suggestions would be great. My next option is to part it out. See if I can recoup some money.

I had a similar problem where 5V signal was lost. Turned out to be camshaft sensor had shorted to earth internally. When ECU was connected it blew the 5v supply circuit again. Had to check sensors for short to ground and found the faulty sensor.

Its a shame garages dont train their staff anymore. Anything more complicated than an oil change and they are screwed

Yea, I had my neighbor come over, he's a diesel mechanic, and I swapped the camshaft and crank sensors again. Still nothing. We racked our brains and went over the entire electrical system. We pulled the valve cover and inspected the timing/camshafts.. All looked great. Turned engine by hand and it was still in time. I give up. Going to scrap the car. Thanks for your help.

But with the ignition on do you have that 5v signal at the sensor(s).

I suspect you dont, But do not be tempted to put another ECU on it, as i think a wring fault or faulty sensor could be causing the ECU to blow/
