TPMS sensor /w change of tires
Hey,
Recently had new all weather tires (General Tires) installed on 2015 Lancer Sportback LE. Immediately low tire sensor engaged. Checked pressures - all were slightly low. Refilled & within a day low tires again. Noticed when filling the tires valve stems were very 'loose' and seemed flimsy. Returned to shop, they checked tires said everything was 'fine' - they checked with soapy water, etc. they insisted no problems. But what I noticed when I got home was that my valve stems were different. They had a silver "collar" on them that wasn't there when I filled the tires the last time and were much sturdier when filling with air. One tire continued to leak so I went back to the shop and also questioned the owner about whether the valve stems had been replaced without my knowledge. He insisted that the valve stems /w the silver 'collar' are the original Mitsu valve stems and "would never have been removed by the tech" and I was completely wrong. It then turns out the last leaking tire had a small nail in it. Question is, am I being gassed by this shop? Could they have removed the sensors and then replaced them?
