Outlander 2.0 turbo related questions
Hello from the Netherlands,
My buddy owns a 2005 Outlander 2.0 Turbo with 201 bhp. It has the downgraded 8th gen. Lancer Evo engine. Normally it runs at 0.6 - 0.7 bar (9-10 psi). The previous owner increased the turbo boost to the max by simply adding a manual boost controller. However, this is not a safe and proper way to have the boost increased. In full acceleration it suffers from fuel cuts with boost peaks of 1.1 / 1.2 bar (16-17 psi). I figure the ecu can't adjust to that boost pressure difference. So I guess proper mapping will be the answer.
My question is: what can be achieved maximum with mapping (whether or not within safe values), bhp and torque?
