Some people can't stay on topic and when someone forces them to do so they want to whine about it. They also don't realize exactly how lax this forum is compared to others that I'm a member of. One allows NO swearing and the above edited comments would be grounds for a permanent BAN.

Anyways back on topic again. I'll try to get more pics as soon as I get more done to the car. Still have to clean up the side louvre's and repaint them before I clean up the windows and attach them.

I also have the EGT ready to go in just need the manifold drilled and tapped to fit the probe. Then I also have a digital guage cluster to be installed once it's been altered to work with the later year cars.

Dude for real, how'd I start flamin him?? I started when he started on me. It was a NONSERIOUS SMARTAZZ comment about the PDA holder being stuck to the windshield that was taken in a way that it wasn't supposed be taken in, my goodness! But I'm done with it now and Sang knows that we're done going back and forth. Subject dropped. Period.

I do have a question though Sang and please take no offense because none is meant here...I understand cleaning up some stuff and upgrading motor parts but why not start replacing things that are "looking their age" on that car like re-upholstering the seats, replacing carpet and what not? What are your plans for the interior?

Dude I WISH I could. I've been TRYING to pull a better looking carpet out of my parts car. Do you know how HARD it is to change the carpets in these things? I have the ENTIRE interior out of my parts car (I mean from the dash down to the floor seats and all are out) and I STILL can't get the carpet out.

As for the seats... One day I will get them done but at a cost of $900 a piece for reupholstering in the leather I think I'll stick with the seats as is. Mine are actually in fairly decent shape for their age and the back seats are near perfect. I DID actually replace the steering wheel. The leather on the old one had actually split and was rolling down off the wheel from shrinkage.

If there's one thing I can say about these cars, they didn't make them for you to be able to pull parts easily. I'm still trying to get the rest of the wiring harness out of the parts car before I send it on it's way.

Wiring is a beeotch in about every vehicle. Have fun with that. Well I was thinkin what would be a sweet replacement for your seats in that style of car would be a decent set of racing seats with 4 point harnesses and at probably at half the cost of getting them re-upholstered.. And maybe take the back seat out and put some kind of panel back there?

I do know how much of a b!tch it is to replace carpet and to rip things out in the process of doing it. I did it to my Eclipse. The worst part was cutting the carpet out to go around the panels and console and stuff... My whole interior was black and tan and I hated the tan stuff which were all the lower panels, carpet, seats, etc...I replaced the carpet with new black stuff and put in black and silver racing seats all in one shot...Those seats were horrible to install man! I also took my car up to our body shop and had one of the guys repaint my tan panels and moldings black...I'm very happy with the way it turned out but I'm still not completely done with the interior. These cars are a never ending saga man. Good luck.

Yeah but you've also got to consider the fact that an Eclipse is widely supported due to the explosive import market of the 90's vehicle. All the F&F movies bringing these heavily moddified cars to light and companies wanting in on the action. Thus these companies produce the parts for those cars and ignore ones like the Conquest/Starion since they're quite a bit more obscure and rare.

Seats are universal but unfortunately the mounting brackets aren't. I just don't feel like doing the work and fabbrication right now to put a set of racing seats in. When I do though I'll likely so a 5 point harness, possibly a semi roll cage (Rear half to support the harness and run back into the trunk) and possibly pull the rear seats and create a custom speaker box in the place of the rear seat. But that's going to be a long time in coming as I want to get the exterior done first.

It's only there till I get a more solid mount. The bouncing that it does while I'm driving especially when I'm actually trying to watch it for directions is rather annoying. Besides with THAT much windshield to look through I really don't notice it if I'm not paying attention.
