I did. My mom is Shinto. Nothing like mom saying something, she laughs, and everyone in the room either laughs nervously or has that WTF look on their faces. Russians, if you back out of the story and try to sense the theme of the story, you *might* get what they're trying to say. The funny part is their expression while they're waiting for your enlightenment.

btw.. My dad was Lutheran. I was raised Lutheran/Buddhist. Talk about a confusing up-bringing!

Well,youre the first Ive ever heard say that and its true. Ive noticed that too for many years. I know that a high percentage of those with college degrees 2yrs on up to the dr.md JDr level are arrogant. Ive had plebes tell me the people I work with never talk to them ( for years) because they are aloof/arrogant. I was shocked at that cause they share the same office area. My relatives and brother and his kids are so arrogant I havent talked to them in 30 yrs. hell,they probably think Im arrogant,but of course Im not,,,usually. So get used to it. I no longer get up in the morning with any intent or desire to make friends . Welcome to the arrogant USA. Many europeans say that to me and the US says the europeans are rude. I tell them europeans are rude cause they hate demanding obnoxious arrogant americans ..
