Ah.. I've never seen one of those.. only the front mounted ones. Where do you think it would go on an auto/420a? I'm sure there's some where to put it since there's no turbo.

Just found another site that offers transmission cooler kits.. lifetime warranty too.

http://www.importperformancetrans.co...ers.shtml#main

I don't know much about the different sizes.. what I need, and what would fit.

You are one lucky kid you know that, for some reason I though you had a 4g64 not a 420a. Bottom line here is a tranny cooler kit for the 420a

http://catalog.exileracing.com/produ...1602d443aef702

exileracing.com specalizes in dodge motors, they mostly do avanger work but the avenger shares the 420a... they also do alot of auto tranny work. So enjoy!

It works like a radiator...hot fluid goes in one side...not so hot fluid out the other.

Yeah.. this is what's confusing me though.. you connect it in the plumbing with the radiator correct? .. so coolant flows through this tranny cooler somewhere... but if its mounting on the outisde how the hell does it cool the tranny fluid? .. wouldn't the fluid have to come OUT of the tranny, into the tranny cooler.. then back into the tranny? Or am I completely getting the wrong idea here?

Yes and no...your tranny has fluid (tranny fluid) lines that run from the tranny through the radiator core and back to the tranny. This kind of helps keep the fluid at a somewhat constant temp, also helps the fluid warm up quicker in the winter. No coolant enters these lines. When you add an external cooler, the tranny fluid is cooled by the air flowing through the cooler.

So, right now.. my tranny fluid is already running through my radiator and back to the tranny?... but, if I add this aftermarket cooler.. I would run it from the tranny to the tranny cooler... which is just a big heat sink for the tranny fluid.. and then back to the tranny???

Page 2 of this Thread has some good info about tranny coolers. Scroll down and read Mark7's posts. Mines runs through the radiator, then the cooler and back to the tranny.
