2017 mitsubishi outlander sport loud fan
I just bought a used 2017 mitsbsh out sport it has 21,000 miles on it. I noticed a few days after i had it that there was a loud clicking noise coming from the engine about every 5 to 10 seconds. I opened the hood and seen that it was the fan coming on and turning off, so this happens as soon as I start the car, it doesnt have to heat up. is it normal for the fan to click right on and SO LOUDLY??? and even loudly clicking right off? this continues as it sits idle, i obviously dont hear it as i drive. help
Are you running the climate control in "auto" mode or have the air conditioner or have the air flow set to defrost? All of those settings will cause the AC compressor to cycle (which normally turns the electric fan on when the AC compressor runs). If it is the AC compressor cycling that much then I would have the charge level checked on the system. Compressors that are low charged will cycle almost constantly.
