All right last night I locked all the posts on the first 3 pages of the newbiw section. Hopefully this helps slow the postwhoring in there. I will start doing this every night around midnight. I am thinking also about going and on one section a night and start locking all threads from the 2nd page of threads back. That should also kill some of he post whoe's drives.

The problem aside from being in OT alot with pete is he is selling his eclipse. So will he continue putting the time and effort here even if he leavs mitsus all together.

I think Eclipsed4u should be one He is all around a good member to the forum.
as for the other three im in a toss up between them Id hate to see pete leave us or kinda shy away from here. and I never know when joel is on lol I just see his posts magically appear. as for his sig does he run the other forum? I never went to it to even see it.

 

I know he's selling his eclipse but Pete says he'll be sticking around. I would hope he would and I think possibly the fact that he'd be a Mod might instil in him SOME sense of duty. I think he knows quite a bit about the Eclipse and he could be helpful not just in the eclipse section but others as well. Hell I don't even HAVE my eclipse up here and haven't been able to physically touch her in almost a year now (She's in storage in FL and I may even lose her due to not being able to afford it ) but I am going to stay (Mostly cuz I love the forum and I KNOW I know a bit about these cars as well as others and can easily answer most questions. Besides I STILL have my Conquest (Starion is the Mitsu version) and I can't get on the Starquest forum ... Not only that but Patrick knows ALOT about them it would appear so perhaps I'll have a hand (In spirit) and a sounding board for when I finally tear the engine down for the rebuild (Supposedly low compression it'll run but not drive). Etiher way I think we should talk to Pete maybe he can even take over Mod for OT he's there and in Eclipse section the most. He doesn't BS too much in OT so perhaps he'll be good for keeping things ON topic in the Off topic section...

He is good to me. Just as long as he stays around. as for the off topic sectio really I honestly think that should be left "lightly" modded because it is OT and anything goes as long as nothing demeaning racial or hurtfull comes up it should be fine. even if OT goes OT from the origanal post. just 1 word responces need to be stopped.

I talked briefly about 5 minutes ago with Keith (NESpeed) about it asking if the opertunity can up would he be willing and he said def. but he wasnt sure if because he only has 300 posts if he was worthy enough and other members might not like that. I said to him it isnt up to other members it is up to us and if he will be willing to help us out where we need it then he can be considered.

I say we should go with the 3. slow420A, eclipsed4u, and NESpeed. and devide up sections between all of us to cover and keep organized. any thing to oppose from that???

 

Not opposed to that at all I'll contact Joel see if he'd be interested in Mod and taking the plug from his sig. I think the few of us will be a good start. Also maybe even instead of someone taking a specific area (Eclipse or OT or Tech) go for 1 mod for general section (Models, Classified) until we get the site a bit more organized. I also don't mind the OT topics going OT but when they get grossly OT that's when it gets tiring. I see a thing says Show pics of yourself and I'm seeing say dirty limericks it's time to close the thread or try to guide it back to the pics. Know what I'm saying?

I PMed Eclipsed4U about being a Mod waiting on his response. I will talk to NESpeed about it later. I guess if they all accept then it falls into patricks hands right?

 

i really think that making people section-specific is a bit early...as i typically dont do that until a forum receives ALOT more traffic...but what we can do, is make them site moderators, but when they reply back, and if they accept, you can tell them that they have specific sections in which we would like to see them focus their time, but that they have full power on the entire forum..sound ok? also, i am going to contact a few of the mods that havent been around in months and give them some story about the forum needing more interest from mods..blah blah blah...

 

update...i have demodded madmat..he hasnt even logged in since august..i dont care if hes pissed about it or not...i have written to burntgsx and asked him if he still needs to be a mod, but i said that we really do need more activity out of him. i also wrote to dsmtalonawd51 and told him that he would still be a site mod, but his user title would reflect that he is specifically designated to the eclipse section...i have also written to wickoutlander and told him that he would stil be a mod, but his title will reflect that he is specifically the outlander section mod.
