Default replaced timing belt, now little power

I have a '94 Eclipse that had a timing belt (or chain?) replaced. Since bringing it home from the shop I have noticed that the acceleration has been weakened. Also, on hills the engine appears to be "pinging". Any ideas before I take it back to the shop? Also, my fuel economy is about the same.

thats what it sounded like to me, its probably just off enough that it doesn't cause a major problem.

Off by 1 tooth I'm guessing any more and it would be a BIG problem.

Sounds like that to me as well. I did a timing belt change on my 93 once and didn't take in to account that I had to take a wrench to the intake CAM to compress the value springs. Anyway my car started but ran like sh#t. So here is what you do. Find a Socket that fits the center of your Crankshaft. Put the engine to TDC (Top Dead Center) and look at the CAMs. They should be a notch on the pullys that is lined up. You will be able to tell. If it is off you will need to take it back to the shop cause they have to tear the whole front part of the engine apart. Good Luck and let us know.
