and the temperature dropped significantly Usually a marginal starter will work fine in warm temps but fail when the weather gets cold.

So this is a sign that the starter might be the problem.

It may be some intricate job to replace but if it is the starter and you don't want to pay to have it towed then bang on it a few times with a hammer and this should wake up that fused and burnt up starter contact inside the starter for one or two more starts.

Can't reach the starter with enough clearence to give it good whack ?
...then insert a large pry-bar down through the manifold assembly to rest onto the starter body then whack the pry-bar,

...then will it start [:-]

Cursing it will not help. [X(] Tried that.

net time your starter goes out call me and ill get the part take the 30min to install and then collect the 400 bucks.
Hey man, sometimes you just pay for it y-know ?

Sometimes its just easier that way.

I spent two month replacin' the engine on my Talon, then sooooooo glad to have it on the road again and gettin' 40mpg in the worst part of the recent gas hike that I 'wasted' 450 bucks replacing the rusted exhaust manifold-to-cat-flex pipe by having Monroe Muffler do the job just because it was so fast and convienent and I was to dang tired of bein under this rat.

...although now thinking back on it now [:@] I do sorta wanna kick myself

usually if you're hearing some noise it's the starter, if there's no click or anything it could be the solenoid or relay.
