I already added about this in the other topic... You cant swap a 4G63 head onto a 4G64 no matter what you do it WILL NOT fit dont even try its a waiste of time. the 4G64 faces the opposite way of the 4G63 meaning the Throttle on the 4G64 is on the right and in the 4G63 its on the left. total opposite

You cant fit bigger pistions in that block. If you want more displacment your going to have to stroke it. Which would almost make it 2.5, it would be somewhere around 2.497, seriously.

ok...what year is the block and head? If the block/head are from 90-99', yes you can put the head on the block. If the block is from 00-05 then no it will not work. Also there is a difference with the 90-94 heads and the 95-99 heads. The 4g64 is actually really easy to find parts for. I have done it before and I used to have it in my 98' spyder but i sold that car to get a 98' GSX which now has my motor in it. The one i used was a 98' 4g64 block with a 94' 4g63(which has the ports of a 6-bolt, yet has the ability to use the bolt ons/accesories of a 7-bolt. The only thing you will have to do to make the block work with the 4g63 head is to build it if you want to and to block of 4 oil lines in the block.

the 4G64 block is only in the 2G during 97-99 spyders.

the 4G64 block cannot share the 4G63 head. it will NEVER fit case closed the 4G64 id the opposite of the 4G63 I have worked with both. the only 4G63 that could maybe work in a long shot it the one the the EVO8 it faces the same way as the 4G64

ok "EMonz57"...yes the 4g64 can and I am proof it can be done. The 4g64 is actually really popular in galants from the 90's. It was also made factory in some galants in 94' with the DOHC already on it. You are thinking of the 3rd gen 4g64. That motor is opposite of the 2nd gen 4g64. It WILL work. i promise you that.

Ok thats what I was trying to ask because I have never worked with a 4G64 from prior than 2000 model. That model I know wasnt going to work. I wasnt sure how the earier year were setup and thats why I asked because I know that mitsu did change the 4G63 so it wasnt impossible for the same to happen with the 4G64.... I even said I was talking about a 3G 4G64 and wasnt sure anout earier models from there.

Like I said I know I can be wrong here and I will admitt it. Now knowing that it is oppoed from the 3G than I cant see why it wouldnt work at all.

2.4L 4g64 block from a galant or sonata is a good upgrade and wil fit with a 4g63 head. Ive seen it done many times with no issues. What you dont want to do is stroke a 2.0 block, then you wil have many issues. Stroking is not the way to go if it can be avoided, especially for the dsm motors.

Stroking the 2.0L block is just a little more pain in the butt than using a 2.4L bottom end. Just have to get custom pistons and rods with the 2.4L crank is all. It comes out to 2.3L. A good buddy of mine has it done in his 95' GSX. Never had any problems with it and on 30psi he put down 577HP a few weeks ago.
