Thats the great thing about DSM's...you really learn to become a backyard mechanic with them cuz they are always giving you a challenging problem

Hey there infinity8x3, I know I posted a similar issue about this and I read one of your posts syaing you hate it when people fix the problem and don't post what the actual problem ended up being, ha...well for the record.....mines not fixed yet. See here's the thing, that WAS a problem I had, but then I replaced my clutch, head gasket, timing belt, and cams, and have many bigger issues to deal with right now. I'm leaking antifreeze like a mother I know of 2 spots visable, one on the top of the radiator just a pinhole, and the other right above my lower radiator hose, and then somwhere internally its leaking causing it to smoke when I get on the gas, its burning a small amount of oil as well( I believe its the valve stem seals), and I have an exhaust leak right where the manifold bolts to the engine (just saw that last night). So yeah, lol, until I get these priorities straight my idle issue can wait.

Just out of curiosity, how did you clean your throttle body, did you just pour some cleaner in the engine or did you disassemble the entire thing? Then again, yours is probably a little different considering its a 420a vs 4G63.

i think the TB's are actually alot alike. But i went to the parts store and got some spray $#!+ called throttle body cleaner. Alls i did was dissconect the air intake hose going into the TB and (sorry for my lack of tech term) but inside the TB was a plate with a rod comming out the sides. Kinda looked like this -0- it sealed the hole leading into the TB but by manually pulling back on the arm thats resting on the BISS the plate moves and opens up to allow air in the TB. So i pulled it back and squirted the hell out of the inside of the TB. Oh and i had to use a old towel to catch the Black nasty run off comming out of the TB. And scrubed it out with a tooth brush. Put it back together and started it up. Make sure you have a decent battery becouse it takes a while to turn over. It will prolly idle alittle higher after doing it so set the BISS. Another thing that i didnt do is take a Q-tip and some houshold oil and lube up the arms that come out of the plate thing and goes into the TB. Becouse i didnt do it my gas peddel was sticking really bad and i had to spray the TB down with wd-40 to get it to stop but it make my car run like crap for a while.

oh and i took the IAC out and cleaned it really good to
