my gst seems to idles around 1200 rpms and kind of surges up and down between 1200 rpms and 800 rpms and when im at around 4 or 5 thousand rpms and put my clutch in it almost dies its pretty scary it has died before. any idea on how to fix this?

Default RE: idling problem

sounds like an air leak. Here are the things i would do

1. check for any air leaks around the couplings of the intercooler piping and intake piping. Performa boost leak test. Make sure your not venting
2. clean out the throttle body. Alot of times they get very dirty
3. check some sensors such as the throttle position sensor, Idle speed control valve, idle air control motor
