whats up guys/girls im new to this forum, i bought my girl a 97 spyder convertible and its idling pretty bad. It only does it while the vehicle is in park

has anyone had this problem and if so what part(s) did you clean or replace to remedy the Idle

all help would be greatly appreciated

 

what is the idle doing? Is it very low, very high, jumping up and down and if so between what rpms? Little more info please. And also does it only do it under cold start and go away when warmed up? Any check engine lights?

 

The idling happens when its in park mostly and when the car slows down too

And the check engine light is on, we just had the tranny rebuilt and it didn't idle until I was almost home at which time the engine light turned back on

The idle control motor is very expensive too

 

have the CEL scanned and see what it tells you
