Most likely its an emmision thing, getting some small reading. Maybe the o2 or something. I dont think its anything to worry about
Thats what I thought, I was thinking because the battery was disconected so long that the computer took awhile to set everything back the right way. It seemed to run better the longer I drove it. Its gotta go back at 500 miles to get the oil changed I will have them scan it again if it comes back on. Thanks Bro

Well my check engine light is still on, and there is two other problems its a real pain in the @ss to start when its cold out, I must have to crank it 25-30 times before it will fire up, then it stalls once or twice before it stays running. I also have to wait until it is up to temp to drive it. Its also making a knocking sound again, not like the last one it almost sounds like when you flic a ruler on a table and it vibrates back and fourth, thats the only way I can think to describe it. It happens around 2,000-2500 rpms, it doesnt seem to get faster the higher the rpms are, maybe a little but not much at all if any.And it doesnt seem to be getting any louder or worse? I was suposed to bring it back for a oil change after 500 miles but I dont know if I trust these people, Im at 600 miles now, is that bad? Should I change the oil myself or let them do it. I have already sank 5 grand into it not including the 2500 I paid for it wich I was robed on. The freakin motor went 3 months after buying it. Oh one other thing, I am getting really crappy gas milage, Im getting like 225-259 miles per tank? Is that normal considering I have the custom exsaust one it also with the K & N air filter Im running open. I should of bought a brand new 4g63t motor but I didnt expect it to be this much the guy told me he could do it for 2,000 wich was total bull****, and the reason is after I got my car back the first time the block went bad from a balancing shaft bearing, so they say can that bearing F up a block, so they charged me 200 for a used block. I dont think I should have had to pay that considering they told me my block was good, they also said the head was in great condition. Well sorry about the long post everyone, hopefully I will get some feed back on all this. Thanks Again everyone, dont know where I would be without this site.

Well I checked my oil today and there was none on the dip stick!!! My oil light didnt go on either so now I am worried that that knocking is the motor and I am pissed. I just checked the oil 4 days ago it was a little low but I added oil to it. So this motor is probably gonna be crap too in a little. I think these idiots at the shop that did it should buy me a spanking new 4g63t motor for all my troubles. I doubt they will but you never know right...lol

there has to be a reason that the oil is down to nothing. And it must be from what they did

I know. but I dont know what to do now. It is still smoking also when you take off from a light not as bad as it use too. I filled the oil today and I am gonna keep track of the miles to see how fast its burning it. Is there anyway to prove that they coned me or are lying about what they did? All this money I put into it now Im broke so if the motor goes again I have no car wich means I loose my job wich means Im gonna be hella pissed and gonna blow up every car at that shop up he sells used cars there too, I will just make sure the ones that get it have no tags so I know they are his...lol He's got a nice 93 Eclipse turbo with 5 spd there he said there is something wrong with the idle and thats it....maybe he will give it to me for all my troubles?? Yea right I wouldnt be that lucky.

First off $2 grand should give you ALL new pistons, rods, and everything to install them not to mention a head job. That shop ripped you up one side and down the other. I'd be surprised if they didn't clean your old block and charge you for the used one and never put it in. Talk to a lawyer if they don't fix it 100% I've NEVER heard of an engine losing/burning oil EVEN on a break in period. I know people that have done full rebuilds for PERFORMANCE for the price you've paid to get your stock motor up and running AND The replaced EVERYTHING, had the block cleaned, crack, and leak checked same to the head, and did the oil pump, water pump, and every wearable part possible in the engine.

Yea I am beging to think so too, it is starting to knock again and its starting to get worse. So I am gonna call them today. I just hope they dont try to blame it on me saying I beat it or something, I also didnt take it back at 500 miles for the oil change, I mean I did but they said they couldnt do it that day so I did it myself, there was no metal in the oil at all. Did I screw myself by doing the oil change myself??

Yea I think thats all I can do, they told me before they did all this freaking work that I could get a brand new motor for 2900 wich I couldnt afford at the time, I only had 2200 to work with wich he said would be enough to rebuild mine completely, wich was BS it turned out costing me a little under 3000, if that was the case I would of just bought a new motor......I just called them and left a message, I am gonna try to be nice as possiable, unless they try to pull some slimey shyt, then its gonna get real ugly. Anybody know a good lawyer in the Philly PA area???? Good thing I kept all the paper work wich lists everything they replaced or so they say they replaced, come to think of it, they charged me for a used valve cover when they told me the used one I bought worked fine but the used one I had isnt on the car and I know that because the one I had was black and this one is grey.
