That is right, I do want to go overkill, I'd rather be safe than sorry in my mind. Let me tell you, if Emonz is pushing 23psi and pushing over 400hp it's a matter of time before something gives, that gasket was designed to hold around 7psi and 200hp. Now granted it can definately support more than 7psi, thats just what it was "rated" for from the factory. I think 20psi is pushing it especially on an OEM gasket, but then again most of the people here are probably more knowledgeable on the subject than I am. So all I'm saying is in my mind instead of relying in something that "should" work fine, I want something that I know "will" work fine.
how do you figure its rated for 7 psi when the stock 2g runs 12psi . and his car runs 15-18psi stock. Anyway its up to you. If you want just go with the cometic headgasket. Its a well known brand

Sorry, I was under the impression that the stock 2g ran 7psi, my bad. I've actually heard the stock boost was 7psi, 10.5 psi 11psi, and 12psi. But I have never actually had a stock DSM to see for myself.

But yes I think that the cometic head gasket will be my choice. http://www.slowboyracing.com/estore/...=1080&js=n

Thanks for all your help.

mine spikes to about 10-11 but settles to about 9... It should be running stock, it has a 14b turbo and cold air intake, but nothing else..

I agree with the Cometic headgasket and ARP head studs. There's no telling when you'll want to turn up the boost or add a new turbo.....assuming all supporting mods are in place of course.
Regardless, overkill on a headgasket and head studs will not hurt anything but your wallet. It is a peace of mind item in your car's current and future configuration. It's a waste of time and money only if you plan on upgrading the internals later...if so, then go with the stock gasket...it's the same theory as using less expensive oil when breaking in your motor.

Also, one thing to remember is that Emo has an EVO with the 2nd gen 4g63 and not the 1st gen 4g63. Those two motors with the same name are very different from each other...otherwise, there would be more specific parts from that motor that can be transferred onto the 1st gen 4g63, other than the MAF.
