Please give me an idea of where the starter is on a 1996 Eclipse GSX 2.0.What part of the engine is it close to? I have the Chilton's repair manual, but it doesn't help much.

Chilton's repair manual says... "for 1995-98 2.0L turbo engines, remove the air hose."
Is the air hose referred to by Chilton thesame as the"intake hose". If not, is this found under the engine?

 

It is under the left side of the intake manifold.

 

Its easier to go up from underneath the car.. Its on the backside of the motor..

 

Thanks for your help. I was able to find it. It was exactly on the left side of the intake manifold. However, I found it easier to remove it after removing the hose from the intake manifold, the battery, and the battery plate. Once those things were removed, then I had enough access to it, although several hoses/wires were still in the way. Thanks again.
