okay, i have a 2002 eclipse spyder and a god-awful smell keeps coming from the engine bay when i come to a stop. it usually smells like burning rubber, or like a candle when you blow it out, if that makes sense. i'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with my tires, because they were serviced recently. sometimes, smoke comes from the left side of the hood, or the right side if you're facing the engine bay. i'm not sure what the problem is, but it is continually getting worse and i fear for my car's life.

any ideas as to what it is?!

oh, and i have a blown speaker in my dashboard. how the heck do i take the dashboard apart because i cant seem to find any screws or anything holding it in place, and the person who owned the car before me broke my dashboard into like eight pieces trying to fix it, and they obviously could not figure out how to take it apart, either. so, any input in this subject would be greatly appreciated, as well.
