Default Idle and rev problem.

Ok guys, heres my issue. I own a 2006 Ralliart 2.4 4g69. Last night i went to go clean the MAF and me being the idiot I am forgot to plug it back in after installing it. Go to start the car and it stalls. Realized the error of my ways. Plugged it back in and then started the car again and it idled at 500 and died. Did it again and then the idle kept jumping from 500-1000. Kept the car on went under the hood and unplugged it again and nothing changed, kept with the sporadic idle even when the sensor was unplugged. Thought leaving it be over night might reset something but no, not to mention the check engine light is now on. So today I go to get in and it starts but has the same idle of 500-1000. I decide to drive it regardless and notice once it gets up to operating temperature the idle is at the normal 900-1000 but upon acceleration it chokes and the motor wont rev above 4000 in any gear. Any ideas? Like i said check engine light is on.

Make sure that it has a good connection. Then unplug the battery and let it sit for about 1/2 hour. This will reset the computer. Than plug it back in and see if that fixes it. If not then you should have the computer scanned at autozone
